Tragic Death Under Investigation: Anthony Scott, 64, Found Deceased in Willis, Texas Home

WILLIS, TX – Authorities in Montgomery County are investigating the tragic death of 64-year-old Anthony Scott, who was found deceased in his home early Saturday morning.

On August 2, 2025, at approximately 4:20 a.m., deputies from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Willis Police Department, responded to a request for a welfare check at a residence in the 500 block of East Marlin Street in Willis. Upon arrival, first responders located Mr. Scott inside the home with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit, Crime Scene Investigators, the Willis Police Department, representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, and Death Investigators from the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office are actively investigating the incident as a homicide.

As of now, the circumstances leading to Mr. Scott’s death remain unclear, and no additional information has been released. Authorities continue to follow leads and urge anyone with information to contact the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation is ongoing.
