21-Year-Old Man Identified as Victim in Deadly Orangeburg County Shooting

ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — A tragic shooting in Orangeburg County has claimed the life of a young man, now identified as 21-year-old Alexander Bloodworth of the Cope community.

According to the Orangeburg County Coroner’s Office, Bloodworth was pronounced dead at the scene following a shooting that occurred Thursday, July 31, in the 100 block of Navy Drive, just outside of Orangeburg. While the specific circumstances surrounding the shooting have not yet been disclosed, the loss of the 21-year-old has left a community in mourning and many searching for answers.

At this time, no law enforcement agencies have released official details about the events that led to the shooting.
