CLEVELAND, Ohio – A 34-year-old man was tragically shot and killed on Friday night in a west side Cleveland neighborhood, according to the Cleveland Division of Police and the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Michael Christopher Allen, a resident of Cleveland, was found deceased in a driveway in the 3300 block of West 32nd Street on the evening of August 1. Officers from the Cleveland Police Department’s Second District responded to the scene around 9:20 p.m. after receiving reports of gunfire in the area.
Upon arrival, police discovered Allen outside the residence suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators stated that preliminary evidence indicates Allen had been inside the home shortly before the shooting occurred. No arrests have been made, and the Cleveland Division of Police has not yet identified any suspects or released further details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Michael Christopher Allen’s untimely death adds to the growing toll of gun violence in the city and leaves family and friends grieving an unimaginable loss.
