ALLENTOWN, Pa. ā Authorities have identified Stanley Aviles-Espaillat, 25, of Allentown, as the motorcyclist killed in a high-speed collision early Sunday morning.
According to the Lehigh County Coronerās Office, Aviles-Espaillat was pronounced dead shortly after 8:15 a.m. at Lehigh Valley HospitalāMuhlenberg in Bethlehem. He succumbed to multiple blunt force injuries, and his death has been ruled accidental by Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.
The crash occurred around 3:20 a.m. in the 300 block of West Tilghman Street, according to Allentown Police Captain Stephen J. Milkovits III of the Criminal Investigations Division. Preliminary findings indicate Aviles-Espaillat was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when he collided with a car attempting to make a U-turn across Tilghman Street.
Following the crash, Aviles-Espaillat was found unconscious in the roadway. Emergency responders transported him to the hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver of the car involved remained at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, authorities confirmed.
The incident is currently under investigation by the Allentown Police Departmentās Traffic Safety Unit, the Lehigh County Coronerās Office, and the Lehigh County District Attorneyās Office.
