POLICE SEEK INFORMATION ON FATAL HIT-AND-RUN IN ERIE COUNTY

Waterford Township, PA — The Pennsylvania State Police Troop E – Erie is actively investigating a fatal hit-and-run incident and is urging the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying the vehicle and driver involved.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 1:21 a.m., troopers responded to the scene at 12904 Route 19 S, Waterford Township, where a pedestrian was fatally struck by a vehicle.

Investigators have determined that an SUV traveling southbound on Route 19 struck the pedestrian, who was walking in the same direction. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

Authorities believe the vehicle traveled through the Route 19 / Route 97 roundabout, continuing south on Route 19, and passed south of Church Road between 1:10 and 1:19 a.m.

  • Believed to be an SUV
  • Last seen traveling south on Route 19
  • Involved in the collision between 1:10 – 1:19 a.m.
