Fatal Crash on Route 309 in Kline Township Claims Life of Lansford Woman

KLINE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Pennsylvania State Police have released the identities of those involved in a fatal head-on collision that occurred on Thursday, May 30, on Route 309 in Kline Township.

According to authorities, Thairen Finley, 51, of Lansford, was killed in the crash after her vehicle was struck head-on by a silver 2017 RAM truck. The truck was driven by Lucas Forker, 46, of Tresckow.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the collision, but tragically, Finley was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, and no further details regarding possible contributing factors—such as speed, impairment, or road conditions—have been released at this time.

Police have not confirmed the extent of injuries, if any, sustained by Forker, nor have they indicated whether charges may be pending.

The fatal crash closed portions of Route 309 for several hours Thursday as investigators worked to reconstruct the scene and gather evidence.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has additional information to contact the Pennsylvania State Police at Hazleton.

As the investigation continues, the community of Lansford is mourning the loss of Thairen Finley, remembered by loved ones for her strength, kindness, and unwavering spirit.
