According to the teen’s mother, the suspect arrested in connection with the shooting was Tristen’s boyfriend—also just 15 years old.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The search for a missing man ended in heartbreak Wednesday evening as officials recovered the body of Michael Martindell, 46, from the lake outside the Raleigh Springs Civic Center.

Michael was last seen on Tuesday evening, when witnesses reported he had gone into the water but never resurfaced. Emergency crews from the Memphis Fire and Police Departments launched a coordinated search around 7 p.m., but low visibility forced them to pause overnight. Recovery efforts resumed at sunrise Wednesday and concluded tragically when his body was found around 4:30 p.m..

MARTIN COUNTY, Fla. — A 27-year-old woman is recovering after being bitten by an alligator during a weekend outing on the South Fork River, near SW Linden Street.

According to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), the incident occurred while the woman, her boyfriend, and their dog were wading in waist-deep water. Without warning, an alligator bit the woman on her hand and wrist, momentarily pulling her underwater before releasing her.

Her boyfriend acted quickly, transporting her by boat to the Charlie Leighton Park boat ramp, where Martin County Fire Rescue was standing by. The victim was then airlifted to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center as a precaution. Fortunately, her boyfriend and their dog were uninjured.

Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) responded to the scene and are currently awaiting a trapper to locate and remove the alligator involved in the attack.

MCSO’s road and marine units assisted in the rescue operation, ensuring rapid coordination between first responders and wildlife authorities.

Officials remind the public to remain cautious and aware when entering natural Florida waterways, especially during warm months when alligators are more active.

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, Fla. — With heavy hearts, the first responder community of St. Lucie County is mourning the unexpected and tragic loss of Firefighter and Paramedic Jarius Hodge, who passed away on Tuesday, July 22, at just 25 years old.

Madelia, MN — A devastating tragedy has struck the tight-knit community of Madelia following a fatal rear-end collision that claimed the lives of two beloved residents, Ladonna Mae Mikkelson, 75, and her husband, Charles Keith Mikkelson, 83, on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 1:45 p.m. on southbound Highway 15 near 170th Street in Cottonwood Township. Ladonna, driving a 2015 Dodge Caravan, had stopped due to road construction when their vehicle was struck from behind by a 2021 Nissan Altima.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at approximately 2:36 p.m. after receiving reports of a three-vehicle collision that was blocking all lanes of traffic near Browncroft Boulevard.

Investigators determined that Ricardo, driving a white sedan, was traveling northbound on I-590 when he lost control of the vehicle, crossed over the median, and entered the southbound lanes, colliding with two other vehicles. Ricardo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three occupants of the other vehicles involved sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment. The crash caused a temporary shutdown of I-590 South between Empire Boulevard and Blossom Road, with lanes reopening shortly after 5 p.m.
