Brad was truly one of a kind—a pillar of strength, kindness, and unwavering loyalty. He was more than just a man; he was a mentor, a coach, a protector, and a friend to so many. Known throughout the community for his dedication to local youth, Brad coached hundreds of kids in Charleston, always showing up with encouragement, compassion, and a deep belief in each child’s potential—even when they couldn’t see it in themselves.

St. Louis, MO – With heavy hearts, the St. Louis community is mourning the tragic loss of a child who was fatally shot late Wednesday morning in North City.

According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers from District 6 responded to a shooting in the 5000 block of Beacon Avenue around 10:20 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered a juvenile male—estimated to be between 13 and 16 years old—suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Despite the efforts of first responders, the child was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police quickly secured the area and called in homicide detectives, who are now leading the investigation into this devastating incident. As of now, the child’s identity has not been publicly released, pending notification of the family.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear, and no suspects have been named at this time. Officers are canvassing the neighborhood, seeking witnesses and surveillance footage that may shed light on what happened.

Residents expressed sorrow and outrage as yet another young life was cut short by gun violence. “This has to stop,” said one neighbor. “We can’t keep losing our kids in the streets.”

Milwaukee, WI – A fatal shooting is under investigation after emergency crews responded to the 4100 block of N 26th Street in Milwaukee. The incident occurred on July 11  prompting a swift response from Med 2 and the Milwaukee Police Department.

Upon arrival, first responders found one individual suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the victim, and no suspect information has been provided at this time. Police are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting and are currently canvassing the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.

Residents in the area expressed deep concern over the continuing violence in their neighborhood. The block was closed off for several hours as police conducted their investigation.

ARLINGTON, TX — A devastating tragedy unfolded Friday morning, July 11, 2025, at a local hair salon in Arlington, where authorities say a murder-suicide took the lives of two individuals previously involved in a romantic relationship.

According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to multiple 911 calls around 10:17 a.m. reporting an active shooting at a salon in the 7800 block of South Cooper Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 37-year-old William Todd Austin had been fatally shot multiple times. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspected shooter, 37-year-old Michelle Williams, entered the salon and reportedly opened fire on Austin, who was there as a customer. Witnesses inside the salon recounted a chaotic and horrifying scene as the shooting unfolded. Williams then attempted to flee the building, but when she noticed law enforcement arriving, she turned back inside and took her own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

She was rushed to a nearby hospital but was later pronounced dead.

Investigators have since uncovered that Austin and Williams had a previous romantic relationship, though the exact motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The Arlington Police Department continues to examine all aspects of the incident, including any history of domestic issues between the two.

Several other patrons and salon employees were present during the tragic event, but no other injuries have been reported. The swift response by law enforcement likely prevented further harm.

“This was a tragic and horrifying situation for everyone involved,” said an Arlington Police spokesperson. “Our hearts go out to the families affected and to those who witnessed this traumatic event.”

With hearts full of sorrow and love, we announce the passing of Clark James Ewing, 19, of Fairfield, Illinois, who passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Born in Fairfield on September 19, 2005, to Lawrence Ewing and Ashley (Lowe) Lord, Clark lived a life marked by laughter, resilience, and a brilliant spark that touched everyone who knew him.

Clark never met a stranger. He had a quick wit, an endless curiosity, and an unmatched ability to spark a debate with just about anyone—always armed with a smile and a sharp mind. A self-proclaimed comedian and part-time rapper, Clark brought light into every room and could make even the toughest days feel lighter.

He was remarkably bright—able to solve complex math problems faster than a calculator and was known as a Rubik’s cube wizard. He loved music, dominated at Uno, and, above all, loved his family fiercely.

Clark is survived by his parents, Lawrence Ewing and Ashley (Paul Jr.) Lord, both of Fairfield; his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Ladonna Ewing; siblings Zachary Hurley, Evan Owen, Sadie Waldrop, and Journey Waldrop; bonus siblings Nick Ewing, Alycia Best, Kaydee Garner, Ace Haygood, Dylan Garner, Steven Smith, and Jazmyn Smith; step-siblings Rome Lord and Marisa Lord.

He also leaves behind many aunts and uncles: Jessica (Jared) Lawyer, Shana Ewing, Misti (Howard) Thompson, Monty (Doris) Ewing, and Alvin “Buddy” Ewing; cousins Kenny Ewing, Rick (Rachel) Ewing, Crystal Ewing, Billie Ewing, Aiden Hasse, Addison Lawyer, and Emmy Lawyer; and his beloved niece, Zaya Hurley.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Tammy Sue Lowe and Jeffrey Allen Beck.

Per the family’s wishes, Clark will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 18, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, south of Fairfield. Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, also at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Neurofibromatosis (NF) Network and will be accepted at the funeral home.

Clark’s presence in this world was a gift. He met life’s challenges with humor, heart, and hope—and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
