OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. — Tragedy struck Tuesday evening in Pontiac when an 18-year-old man lost his life and a second man was critically injured in a shooting near West South Boulevard and Highland Avenue.

Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at approximately 7:49 p.m. after reports of multiple people shot. When deputies arrived, they found the 18-year-old Pontiac man unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Deputies immediately began life-saving efforts until paramedics from the Waterford Regional Fire Department arrived and took over. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
