    With deep sorrow, we share the heartbreaking news of the tragic and senseless loss of 35-year-old Ebonee McNiel, who was killed on July 2, 2025, in a devastating act of domestic violence in Charlotte, North Carolina.

    The incident occurred around noon at an apartment complex on Pebblestone Drive, where Ebonee and her boyfriend — with whom she shared children — got into an argument. During the altercation, the man fatally shot Ebonee before turning the gun on himself, all in front of their children.

    Thankfully, the children were not physically harmed, but the emotional trauma of witnessing such a horrific event is unimaginable. Authorities responded swiftly, but both adults were pronounced dead at the scene.

More than his athletic accomplishments, Timmie was known for his humble spirit, respectful demeanor, and uplifting presence.     Mr. Derrick Wyatt, former assistant principal at Thompson and now assistant principal at Saginaw United, reflected on Timmie’s impact:

    “Timmie was a joy to be around. His energy was magnetic, and his character spoke volumes. We were all excited to see the great things he would accomplish at Saginaw United.”
