BHP Mourns the Loss of Vance Schmidt, Beloved 10th Grader

The BHP community is heartbroken by the tragic loss of Vance Schmidt, a beloved 10th grade student remembered for his kind heart, bright spirit, and remarkable athletic talent. Vance’s presence lit up every room he entered, and his genuine kindness and uplifting attitude left a lasting impression on classmates, teachers, coaches, and friends alike.

A true friend to all, Vance had a rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Whether on the field or in the classroom, he led by example—encouraging others, showing empathy, and never hesitating to lend a helping hand. His love for sports was matched only by his dedication and determination, and he was admired for his strong work ethic and humble spirit.

Vance’s sudden passing has left an undeniable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His memory will live on in the lives he touched, and his legacy of compassion, joy, and friendship will not be forgotten.

To honor Vance’s life, a visitation will be held on Friday, June 6 at 5:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service on Saturday, June 7 at 11:00 a.m. Both services will take place at Whitefield Baptist Church.
