Multiple Victims in Shooting at Boom Island Park, Minneapolis
MINNEAPOLIS — A shooting at Boom Island Park has left three people injured, including a 20-year-old woman who is in cardiac arrest after sustaining a gunshot wound to the chest.
According to authorities, a 23-year-old male sustained gunshot wounds to his right hip and right arm. A 20-year-old female is in critical condition after being shot in the left side of her chest and is currently in cardiac arrest. A third victim, described as a male in his 20s, also suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. All victims have been transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) for emergency care.
As of now, additional police units have been dispatched to HCMC to manage a large and unruly crowd that has gathered in connection with the shooting. Authorities are urging the public to avoid the area while emergency personnel secure the scene and continue their investigation.
No information has been released about a suspect or motive at this time. Minneapolis police are actively investigating and have not ruled out the possibility of multiple shooters.
