Authorities have identified the victim in a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred in Dunn County on the night of Saturday, July 19, 2025. The deceased has been confirmed as 36-year-old Tonya Todd, a resident of Boyceville, Wisconsin.
The collision happened just before 9:30 p.m. along Highway 79, north of 790th Avenue in the Town of Sherman. According to the Dunn County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews responded to the scene and found both vehicles in opposite ditches—one in the southbound and the other in the northbound ditch. Tonya, the driver of one of the vehicles, was discovered unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was flown by air ambulance to a nearby hospital for further treatment.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Tonya’s vehicle crossed the centerline, resulting in a head-on collision with the oncoming truck. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the lane departure, and the crash remains under active investigation.
The sheriff’s office is continuing to analyze the circumstances surrounding the incident, including possible factors such as road conditions, speed, or driver impairment. Further updates may be released as the investigation progresses. The condition of the other driver has not yet been disclosed.
