According to Fort Valley Police Chief DJ Flores, the incident occurred between 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on East Church Street near Brawell Street, along Highway 96. The victim, identified as 65-year-old James Oates, was reportedly pushing a shopping cart when he was struck by a vehicle.

Peach County Coroner Kerry Rooks confirmed that Oates was pronounced deceased at approximately 2:40 a.m. at the scene. Authorities have classified the case as a hit-and-run, and the driver involved has not yet been located.

D’Angelo Barker Obituary, Death – Authorities have announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of 25-year-old D’Angelo Barker in Statesville, North Carolina.

Darryl Jordan, 33, was taken into custody in Huntersville on Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Carolinas Regional Fugitive Task Force in collaboration with the Statesville Police Department. Jordan now faces a murder charge in Barker’s death.

The tragic incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. on June 14, when officers responded to reports of gunfire on East Allison Street. Upon arrival, they discovered D’Angelo Barker lying in the roadway with a gunshot wound to the chest. Despite the efforts of first responders and EMS, Barker was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nina Reed, 43, of Providence, R.I., turned herself in to the Milford Police Department on July 7 and is now facing charges of negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign.

The incident occurred on the evening of May 10, when Reed was reportedly driving a Jeep Compass northbound on Milford Parkway. According to police, the vehicle veered off the road to the right, crossed over a grassy area, and entered Boston Post Road, where it collided with a Toyota Corolla. A Chevrolet Volt subsequently struck the right side of the Toyota.

Both the driver and passenger of the Toyota were rushed to a local hospital. Tragically, the passenger, Frances Sullivan, 59, later died from her injuries on the following day, as confirmed by Milford police.

Reed has been released on $70,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on August 5.
