Coach Gabriel Gonzales obituary : More Than a Coach — A Pillar of Baseball Family

Apopka, Florida, we have lost more than just a coach — we have lost a true pillar of our baseball family and community. Coach Gabriel Gonzales was a force of inspiration whose kindness, humor, and unwavering belief in the potential of others left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to cross his path.

To many of us — the so-called “baseball rejects” as we jokingly call ourselves — Coach Gabe gave more than just a second chance at the game we love. He gave us purpose, confidence, and a reason to believe in ourselves again.

Coach Gabe was more than a coach. He was a proud Marine veteran who bravely served on the front lines for our country. He was a mentor, a role model, and a loyal friend. Most of all, he was a loving father — not only to his own children, but to every player who had the privilege of calling him “Coach.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we are asking for your support to help his family during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly to his son, Angel, to assist with memorial arrangements and to ease the financial burden during this time of grief.
