BUENA VISTA TWP, MI — A tragic and violent scene unfolded early Sunday morning as Demetrious A. “Meak” Robinson, 41, of Saginaw, was shot 16 times and killed outside an unlicensed after-hours club known locally as “The Pole Barn.” The shooting occurred at approximately 3:53 a.m. on June 1, 2025, at 3238 Wadsworth Road in Buena Vista Township.
According to Buena Vista Township Police Detective Russ Pahssen, surveillance footage captured Robinson exiting the barn alongside a 28-year-old woman when a second male—wearing a hoodie cinched tightly around his face—followed them out. Without warning, the suspect approached Robinson and opened fire, striking him multiple times in a targeted and fatal assault. The woman was not physically harmed in the incident.
Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.
“The Pole Barn,” a location already familiar to law enforcement, has drawn repeated complaints for hosting late-night parties where food and alcohol are distributed without a license. Police have responded to the site numerous times due to large, unregulated crowds, often numbering in the hundreds. Authorities confirm that the venue was once again operating without oversight when the fatal shooting occurred.
“This wasn’t a random act of violence,” Detective Pahssen said. “The number of shots fired and the nature of the attack indicate this was a deliberate and targeted act.”
Robinson, known affectionately as “Meak” to family and friends, is being remembered as a charismatic, loyal, and spirited individual who had a strong presence in the Saginaw community. His sudden and senseless death has left loved ones heartbroken and searching for answers.
Law enforcement is actively investigating the case and reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Buena Vista Township Police Department or leave an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
As the community mourns, this incident also reignites concerns about the dangers of unauthorized after-hours venues—spaces that often lack proper security, regulation, or emergency preparedness.
The investigation remains ongoing.
