Homicide Investigation Underway in Brandon Following Fatal Shooting
BRANDON, FL — The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a homicide that occurred on June 1, 2025, in the 700 block of Providence Trace Circle in Brandon.
At approximately 7:05 p.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at an apartment complex. According to initial information, an argument erupted between the suspect and the victim in the breezeway of the building. During the altercation, the suspect fired multiple shots, striking the victim, before fleeing the scene.
Emergency responders transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed sorrow over the tragic loss, stating, “A man’s life has been tragically cut short due to an act of violence that can never be undone. There is no dispute that should ever come to this. Our detectives are doing everything they can to locate the suspect and ensure the victim and his family get the justice they deserve.”
Law enforcement officials are currently searching for the suspect, urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with the investigation.
This remains an active case. The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office Public Affairs Office will release the victim’s identity once family members have been notified.
