Homicide Investigation Underway in Sunnyvale: Suspect Jesus Aguilera Identified

SUNNYVALE, CALIFORNIA — The Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety (DPS) has launched a homicide investigation following a fatal shooting that occurred on the evening of Thursday, May 29, 2025. Authorities have identified the suspect as Jesus Aguilera, 44, a resident of Sunnyvale.

At approximately 7:42 p.m., Sunnyvale DPS officers responded to a 911 call reporting multiple gunshots near a residence in the 900 block of South Wolfe Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim lying outside the residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Despite immediate life-saving efforts by first responders, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

Investigators quickly identified Aguilera as a suspect in the shooting. While the motive remains under investigation, officials believe this was not a random act of violence and that the suspect and victim may have known each other.
