HOMICIDE | Suspect on the Run After Fatal Shooting in Chamblee
CHAMBLEE, GA — Police are actively searching for a gunman after a deadly shooting occurred early Friday morning in a busy commercial area of Chamblee.
According to the Chamblee Police Department, a 911 call was received at 7:44 a.m. reporting a shooting at 2050 Chamblee Tucker Road, a location that houses multiple businesses. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound to the chest.
Emergency responders rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but despite life-saving efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
Authorities have released a photo of the suspect and are urging the public to remain vigilant. Anyone who recognizes the individual or sees someone matching the suspect’s description is asked to call 9-1-1 immediately and not attempt to approach.
At this time, the suspect remains at large, and investigators are working to determine the motive behind the shooting. The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending family notification.
