It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the tragic passing of Maddie J. Arthur, who lost her life in a car accident on May 30, 2025, at just 17 years old.
Maddie was a bright and compassionate young woman whose presence was a source of joy and inspiration to all who knew her. A dedicated student and the president of the Scranton FFA chapter, she embodied leadership, responsibility, and kindness beyond her years. Whether leading her peers or competing in athletics, Maddie’s competitive drive and team spirit made her a role model both inside and outside the classroom.
Her love for the outdoors, adventurous nature, and radiant smile left lasting memories with her family, friends, classmates, and teachers. Maddie embraced every opportunity to grow, give back, and live life with purpose — her enthusiasm and warmth left a mark on her community that will not be forgotten.
As her loved ones and the Scranton community mourn this heartbreaking loss, we also gather in gratitude for the time we were privileged to share with her. Maddie’s legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched and the values she stood for.
