John Messer, 62, Killed in Early Morning Motorcycle Crash in Western Hamilton County

CROSBY TOWNSHIP, OH — A tragic crash in the early hours of Monday, June 2, 2025, claimed the life of John Messer, 62, of western Hamilton County, according to the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The fatal accident occurred just before 5:00 a.m. at the intersection of New Haven Road and Jacob Road in Crosby Township, a rural area northwest of Cincinnati.

According to initial reports, Messer was riding a motorcycle when it collided with an SUV at the intersection. The exact circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by authorities.

Emergency crews responded swiftly to the scene, but Messer was pronounced dead as a result of injuries sustained in the crash. The identity of the SUV driver has not been released, and no charges have been announced as the investigation continues.

The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Unit is leading the investigation and is working to determine the cause of the crash, including whether speed, visibility, or other factors may have played a role.

Messer was a known member of the local community, and news of his death has left neighbors and friends mourning the unexpected loss.
