Teen Taken Into Custody Following Watson Avenue Shooting
LITTLE RIVER, SC —A 16-year-old male from North Carolina has been taken into custody in connection with a violent shooting incident that occurred on Sunday, May 25, 2025, along Watson Avenue in Little River, South Carolina. Authorities confirmed the arrest on Monday, and serious charges are now pending against the juvenile suspect.
According to the Horry County Police Department, the teen will face the following charges:
- Eight counts of attempted murder
- Possession of a weapon by a person prohibited by law
- Possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime
Due to the suspect’s age, his identity has not been released, in accordance with South Carolina state law, which prohibits the public disclosure of minors involved in criminal investigations.
Law enforcement officials stated that the juvenile is being transported to the Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia, SC, where he will be held while the legal process moves forward.
The Watson Avenue shooting sent shockwaves through the Little River community. Multiple individuals were reportedly targeted in what authorities are describing as a dangerous and deliberate act of violence.
