GARLAND, TX — A tense and tragic incident unfolded at a Motel 6 in Garland on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, resulting in an officer-involved shooting and the deaths of two individuals, including the suspect involved.

According to the Garland Police Department, officers were dispatched to the motel following a report of a disturbance involving an armed individual, later identified as a tenant at the location. Upon arriving on the scene, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect, who responded by brandishing a firearm, leading to a swift escalation of the situation.

Given the danger and volatility of the encounter, the Garland SWAT team was called in to manage the standoff.
