One Dead, One Injured in Early Morning Shooting at Indianapolis Apartment Complex
INDIANAPOLIS, IN — A deadly shooting unfolded early Tuesday morning at an apartment building on the near north side of Indianapolis, leaving one person dead and another injured.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), officers were called to the Historic Dorchester Apartments in the 3700 block of North Pennsylvania Street just before 4 a.m. in response to reports of a shooting. The complex sits just south of the intersection of Pennsylvania and 38th streets.
Upon arrival, officers discovered two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene, while the second was transported to a local hospital. Their current condition has not yet been released.
Investigators have not yet disclosed the circumstances leading up to the shooting or any information about potential suspects. The area remained blocked off for several hours as detectives processed the scene and canvassed the neighborhood for witnesses.
