    Morrow County, OR – A tragic accident claimed the life of a driver late Thursday night in Morrow County. The fatal crash occurred at approximately 10:28 p.m. on July 3, 2025, along Interstate 84 near milepost 162, just outside of Boardman.

    According to the Oregon State Police, 50-year-old Timothy W. Nelson was behind the wheel of a gray Honda Odyssey traveling eastbound when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the roadway and collided with the end of a guardrail. Nelson was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Emergency crews responded promptly, and the highway was temporarily closed for about 30 minutes as investigators examined the scene and cleared the wreckage.

    Authorities have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway. The Oregon State Police continue to investigate the incident.

    Everett was the kind of young man who made a lasting impression—bright, adventurous, joyful, and full of life. His infectious smile, boundless curiosity, and kind heart touched everyone he met. He was always up for an adventure, and his free spirit and love for the outdoors defined so much of who he was. He was a son, a brother, a grandson, a nephew, and a friend—but most of all, he was deeply loved.

    He is the cherished son of Olivia & Nick Belz and Jason Brown, and the beloved brother of Saylor Belz, Jayla Brown, and Elaina Brown. Everett was the precious grandson of Susan & Stephen Horne and Star & Mark Belz, and a dear nephew to Kelly Thomas, Joe Thomas, Tyler Horne, Tim & Maria Belz, Pete Belz, and Meghan Scaccia. He will also be sorely missed by many cousins, extended family members, and countless dear friends whose lives were forever changed by his presence.

    In just 15 short years, Everett filled the world around him with laughter, kindness, and adventure. Whether racing through trails, lighting up a room with a joke, or simply showing love to his family and friends, Everett embodied a spirit far larger than his years.
