Three Shot, One Arrested After Shooting at Saenger Theatre During Children’s Dance Recital
MOBILE, ALABAMA — A horrifying scene unfolded Sunday night at the Saenger Theatre in downtown Mobile, where a children’s dance recital was disrupted by gunfire, leaving three people shot and a community shaken. One suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
The incident occurred during a recital featuring local youth dance groups, drawing a crowd of families, friends, and supporters. Witnesses described the moment gunshots rang out inside the historic venue, sending terrified audience members scrambling for safety.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, and one of the victims was photographed being carried out of the theater by paramedics. All three victims were transported to area hospitals. As of this report, their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Mobile Police quickly secured the building and confirmed that one suspect was taken into custody. The identity of the suspect and the victims has not yet been released, and investigators are still working to determine a motive.
