Traffic Stop in College Station Leads to Recovery of Stolen Firearm and Arrest of Three Teens

COLLEGE STATION, TX — An early morning traffic stop by College Station police led to the recovery of multiple firearms, including a stolen handgun and a modified weapon classified as a prohibited firearm.

Officers initiated the stop in the early hours of the day and quickly discovered three illegally possessed firearms inside the vehicle. Among the recovered weapons were a stolen Glock 19, a Palmetto Dagger Compact 9mm, and another Glock 19 equipped with a “Glock switch,” a device that converts a semi-automatic pistol into a fully automatic weapon — a configuration that is illegal under federal law.

As a result of the discovery, three individuals were arrested:

  • Edwin Moore, 18, of Somerville, was charged with Unlawful Carry of a Weapon and Minor in Possession of Tobacco.
  • Elijah Green, 18, of Washington, TX, was charged with Unlawful Carry of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, and Possession of a Prohibited Weapon.
  • Jacoby Cole, 19, of Independence, TX, was charged with Unlawful Carry of a Weapon.

Authorities confirmed that the Glock 19 had been reported stolen and are continuing their investigation to determine the origin of the other firearms and any potential links to other criminal activity.

Police highlighted the dangers posed by illegally modified weapons, particularly those equipped with conversion devices like the “Glock switch,” which significantly increases the risk to public safety and law enforcement personnel.

The College Station Police Department emphasized their ongoing commitment to proactive policing efforts that help prevent gun violence and remove illegal weapons from the streets.

No injuries were reported during the stop, and the suspects were transported to the Brazos County Jail for booking.
