FAIRVIEW, N.C. — The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a husband and wife were found dead inside their Fairview home Thursday evening.
Deputies were called to a residence on Nobel Road around 5 p.m. on October 16, 2025, where they discovered Paul and Kimberly Giacobbe deceased inside the home. Authorities confirmed that the couple were married.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, the circumstances surrounding their deaths remain under investigation. However, officials emphasized that there are no other persons of interest or suspects at this time and that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
“Our hearts and thoughts are with this family and others impacted,” said District 1 Captain Dustan Auldredge in a statement. “We understand there have been a lot of questions about this incident, and we wanted to make sure immediate family had been notified before releasing information. We will continue to prioritize the family and their needs at this time.”
Deputies and investigators remained at the scene for several hours Thursday evening, collecting evidence and interviewing neighbors. The Sheriff’s Office has not released further details regarding the cause or manner of death, pending the results of autopsies and the ongoing investigation.
