Grants Pass, Ore. – Authorities and family members have identified 23-year-old Naudya Weichers as one of the victims injured in Tuesday morning’s violent acid attack at a Dollar General on Merlin Road in Grants Pass.
According to police, an attempted robbery escalated into a brutal assault, leaving Naudya and a co-worker exposed to muriatic acid. Both victims were rushed to Three Rivers Hospital for emergency treatment.
Naudya’s family has confirmed that she has lost vision in her right eye, with doctors warning of potential permanent damage. Beyond the physical pain, her injuries have forced her to stop working at both of her jobs, creating a heavy financial burden for her and her loved ones.
Her sister shared that the family’s most urgent concern is meeting basic needs:
“She won’t be able to work at all, so she won’t be able to afford anything that she would usually need for her baby and for her house… diapers, rent, bills—anything at this point helps.”
Naudya, the mother of a two-year-old son, faces a long recovery. To support her during this time, her family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover medical bills, rent, and child care.
