GUNTERSVILLE, Ala. – The Guntersville Police Department is investigating a tragic motor vehicle collision that occurred early Wednesday morning, October 29, 2025, on U.S. Highway 431 at the intersection of Buck Island Drive.
Authorities say that at approximately 7:53 a.m., officers responded to reports of a serious two-vehicle crash involving a 2024 Mazda CX-50, driven by 69-year-old Alexis Lauren Taylor-Boll of Guntersville, and a 2017 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 29-year-old Chelsy Morgan Barnes of Dawson.
According to investigators, the Jeep Wrangler was traveling north on Highway 431 when the Mazda CX-50 attempted to enter the highway and turn south. The two vehicles collided, resulting in fatal injuries to Taylor-Boll, who was pronounced deceased at the scene. Barnes sustained injuries and was transported to Huntsville Hospital, where she remains in stable condition.
Multiple agencies responded to assist at the scene, including the Guntersville Police Department, Guntersville Fire Department, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Medical Services Ambulance, and the Marshall County Coroner’s Office.
The Guntersville Police Department’s Traffic Investigations Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision. Officials have not released further details at this time.
Authorities extended their condolences to the family and loved ones of Alexis Taylor-Boll, whose life was tragically lost in the crash. They also reminded drivers to remain alert and cautious, especially at busy intersections along Highway 431.
